Is Now A Good Time To Buy A House?

People often ask, "Is now a good time to buy a house?"

Although home sales have slowed in recent weeks, and prices may see a small drop, it's highly unlikely that we'll see a crash in the market like we did in the financial crisis of of 2008/2009. The reason is inventory is still low, and it's unlikely that we will see a surplus of homes in the near future. Couple that with historically low mortgage interest rates, and you have a solid real estate market that will probably last for several years.

Trying to time the market is almost impossible (unless you are incredibly lucky), and waiting to buy a home can cost you thousands of dollars in increased home prices and higher interest rates.

Time and time again, I've seen people sell their homes thinking they were selling at the top of the market, who then decided to wait for prices to drop before buying a new home, only to find that they've been priced out of their own neighborhood.

When is the best time to buy a house? As soon as you can afford to.
